My family and I have been going to this restaurant for years. The owns and staff are extremely friendly and take the time to take care of their customers. We love the food as well!

Great cozy restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I will definitely come back for more. Had the yakitori shrimp and the yakiniku shrimp, great flavor and tender meats.

So if the price is right and the food is decent it's "A-OK". House of Yakitori was "A-OK". The lunch special is a lot of food for $5 and that will keep me as a repeat customer but remember we are talking about a skewer of chicken and some rice. They have saved their pennies by not redecorating so don't go with high hopes.

Very affordable and the food is awesome! Staff is friendly and very attentive! The food comes out hot, fresh and fast which makes it a perfect spot for a quick lunch. I like the yakitori sticks, tori bits, gzoya and onion rings with the mustard sauce. Maybe not the most figure friendly menu, but worth the splurge!

Looks like a local favorite. Good place to come for lunch for some nice specials. Still prefer Musachi, but closed on Mondays.

House of Yakitori will definitely stick it to you... but in a good way. Having grown up in Colorado Springs, I know, for a fact, that the House of Yakitori establishments are definitely a hidden local favorite. No longer in Colorado Springs, my beau and I have developed a nostalgia for only this restaurant and always stop by, during trips back home. It's not super fancy in food or decor; we love House of Yakitori because the UNIQUE flavor combinations are something we've never successfully found elsewhere. Although there are several Yakitori establishments throughout the Springs, and although they are franchised from the same family/extended family (who are Thai, not Japanese), this specific location is the only one that really hits the spot for some reason, maybe because it's one of the oldest standing restaurants in the franchise. Priced and portioned perfectly, we always choose the lunch or dinner special, which includes cubed, skewered chicken in Yakitori sauce. Soup, steamed white rice, Panko-breaded onion rings, and a coleslaw with a unique mayo based sauce accompanies every entree. What I really enjoy is the contrast of textures & flavors, within every plate. Specifically, the soup's small, fried squares of wonton skin lightly soften, to a perfect crisp, from the hot, bonito-based broth (YUM!!). The creaminess and coolness of the coleslaw balances the saltiness of the Yakitori sauce, and the Panko-breaded onion rings are my absolute favorite because they're perfectly crisp every time. Unlike others have suggested, the chicken skewers are actually DARK MEAT, not white. Regardless, this is a local favorite, my favorite, and I'll be sad if it ever closed.

Seems like it's a Family owned business. Son, who is handsome, very attentive and polite. I believe Mom & Dad are in the kitchen. Dad comes out if it gets too busy for the son. Anyway, the food was excellent. From the soup to the rice and teriyaki chicken...All superb. We had the lunch special and had enough food to take some home for later. Go hungry! Leave happy!

My husband, myself and my mother-in-law really really love this restaurant, (my father-in-law hates it, but they're divorced. Maybe this was the last straw?). They have a very large lunch/dinner special, (same thing different price) for not much money. I think the dinner special is only $7 or $8, lunch is cheaper. For that you get three, (i think? Maybe four) skewers of white meat chicken basted with their house-made yakitori sauce. This comes with white rice, tempura onions, a coleslaw-like concoction, and it is all preceded by miso soup with crispy-fried crackers. OK- Disclaimer in the middle here. Coleslaw is not really japanese. Also, the sauce they use is very big on the flavor front- very sweet, tangy and salty all at the same time. I love it, but it could easily be too much for some. So, if you go here and say "this isn't really japanese food!" that's fine. You're right. The chicken is all-white-meat and is skin-free! Having spent time being semi-adventurous and buying food at random in Japan, I can tell you that skinless white meat chicken is rare there! But, I like it that way. And no, coleslaw is not very japanese, but they love mayo! And that's close enough for me.

By far our family's favorite restaurant. Good for take out or dine in. The staff is the friendliest and the food cannot be found elsewhere. Reasonably priced.

This amazing family treats everyone with respect who walks through the door. After searching for the yakitori that I remembered from my youth, I was happy to find that it still exist. Lunch specials served till 4 pm. Service with a smile. Great food! This is the only place I come to in the springs, and it's alway worth the drive.

By far my favorite Yakitori restaurant in town. I have been coming here consistently for 15 years. The staff is always prompt and courteous. The food comes out fast, hot, and delicious. I have had nearly everything on the menu but my favorite is the Yakitori and shrimp. Each meal includes soup, rice, a coleslaw like salad, and your entrée. Great if your looking for cheep options also, the lunch special runs around 5 bucks and the dinner around 8. Would recommend to anyone. A++

Had the Yakitori meal for dinner, first time eating at a Japanese restaurant. Full disclosure. I didn't know what to expect when ordering and when it came out I wish I could have chosen different sides. House of Yakitori 2 may have gotten a better review from me if I liked coleslaw or onion rings. The soup came out first and I enjoyed that. The chicken skewers were good and I liked the sauce, downside there were a few burnt chunks on them, plus side there were 5 of them. The rice was average, but once the sauce made it's way over and got mixed in it became overwhelming. Service was laid back and very friendly which managed to push their stars to 3. Final note: this must be a hot spot for attractive women :)

The service was very good for a weeknight dinner. Very casual environment. You will have to overcome the initial musty smell of the place. After that it was an enjoyable experience. The yakitori tasted hot and fresh, the cole slaw not so much. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend it.

Oh my word. From the first bite I was hooked. Got the yakitori & it was incredible. Also bought sauce to bring home. Next time I am in Colorado Springs I know where I am eating!

Gyoza...awesome good. Pankodon...awesome great. Yakitori and Yakisoba combo...awesome times two. Prices...awesome cheap. If I had found this place my first night in CoSprings I would have eaten every meal here.

Food is good here. Service is good here. A little cramped for dinning in, but the atmosphere is good. Big portions of suculent beef. It was enjoyable. I recommend it for lunch, dinner or take out. Dinner portion even larger! Giving three stars but it could be four if it tried a little harder. Parking is annoying. Hard to find a parking space. Be prepared for that if you hit the place at a rush. This is why take out is good here.
